Legal & Compliance

Company information, how we approach data protection, and where to send legal or security correspondence.

Company details

ChERP is owned, designed and developed by Appetite Technology, based in South Africa. Correspondence: admin@cherp.co.za.

Data protection posture

We build to align with POPIA principles: churches decide what is collected, access is limited by role, sensitive pastoral records sit behind a separate permission boundary, and administrative actions are recorded in an audit log. We do not claim any third-party certification such as ISO 27001 or SOC 2.

Subprocessors

  • Cloud hosting, database and file storage for the application.
  • Stripe for congregational giving, Paddle for platform subscriptions.
  • Twilio for WhatsApp messaging, where a church enables it with its own credentials.
  • AI model providers for assistant features, used without training on your data.

Cookies

We use only the cookies and local storage needed to keep you signed in and to remember your theme preference. No advertising trackers are used on this site.

Intellectual property

The ChERP name, logo, interface and source code belong to Appetite Technology. Your church receives a non-exclusive right to use the platform for the duration of its subscription.

Responsible disclosure

Report suspected vulnerabilities to support@cherp.co.za. We acknowledge reports within three business days and will not pursue action against good-faith research that avoids privacy violations and service disruption.
